19-Nov-2008 Trev: I am looking at buying my first laptop and have asked a knowledgeable geek friend about requirements.. he has said that to run vista efficiently, I will really need dual core processor and 2GB of Ram... I've found details of an eMachine e510 T1400, and it does have dual core/2GB, running vista, also with a network port (to connect my other PC's), wireless but no webcam. This conflicts with the spec you quote... have I been misinformed or is it a variant? Further questions 1: What applications are included in MS works? 2: Someone on here has been told that the e510 will not run games such as SIMS... can you easily explain the difficulty, and also what level of game can run? Matt: You will need a wireless router that is compatible with Cable broadband, not an ADSL wireless modem/router. It does not have a built-in webcam.

SteveF: It doesn't come with a recovery disc but you can have one made up before dispatch. This model is in stock so can be delivered as quickly as the next day if needed.

SteveF: Yep, wifi refers to wireless internet and yes, as long as there isn't too many walls between you and the wireless router then accessing the internet should be no problem. (by that I mean around 4 or 5!) have a look at our wireless router range and check whether you have a BT line or Cable for your internet connection. If its BT, you need a ADSL router, if its virgin then you need a cable router. Hope this helps.
